Install the card and drivers.
Install JAVA.
Install the Raid software.
Install the JAVA based gui to administer the raid.
Problems: Run the program as an administrator or turn off UAC, restart, and then install the program.
There are 2 parts to the Drivers to use RAID functionality.
First you have the SII3132R5 driver, and then you have the Psuedo Processor for the RAID5.
This is the part that’s causing all the problems attempting to use RAID in Win 7.
You can use this enclosure in Windows 7, just not the RAID.
To use it in Win 7, you MUST flash the controller card with the BASE BIOS, referred to as SATALink BIOS version 7.7.02.
Then you must use the SATALink drivers.
Drivers ARE available at Silicon Images website. DO NOT use the Drivers on the enclosed CD (BIOS 7.7.02 Must be used).
Go to Silicon’s Images website and download the updated BIOS’ and Drivers.
You will find that this Unit does in fact work in Win 7.
Just not RAID.
And Silicon Image is attempting to write the RAID5 drivers for Win 7.
RocketRaid RR622 Non-boot RAID:
1. Download the HP Format Utility (Google it).
2. Get a USB flash drive and create a DOS Startup Disk using the HP Utility.
3. Download latest BIOS image here: www.highpoint-tech.cn/USA/bios_rr622.htm
4. Extract it to your formatted USB drive.
5. Reboot into DOS using the flash drive.
6. Type “load RR622.V11 -c” at the C:\ prompt
7. Disable INT 13
8. Disable EBDA
9. Press F10
10. Backup (y/n): Up to you…
11. Flash (y/n): Yes
12. Remove Flash Drive. CTRL+ALT+DEL to reboot.
